Mid Century Photography Los Angeles: I’ve enjoyed exploring my father’s old slides. There are maybe five thousand of them. I’d say ninety percent are of me and my brothers, five percent is Cape May and then the other five percent are interesting odds and ends. The beautiful and curious ones are found in that five percent. I previously posted photos from a 1960s trip my dad took from New Jersey to Las Vegas.
It was twenty years later before he made it all the way to the Pacific Coast. It wasn’t until my wedding until he made it back. Here a few random photos from Los Angeles 1980s, including the Hyatt Regency and the most photographed building in LA, the Westin Bonaventure.
Again, I can’t recommend ScanCafe enough. It’s a terrific service. Much more cost effective than our local photo store here in Vermont and quality is excellent. I’m excited because I came across a box of slides of the album from of the 1964 World’s Fair in New York City. A mid-century treasure to be sure and currently at the ScanCafe office. Keep posted!
